Forest Engineer

**About the role**
As the Forest Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring we maximise the potential of our forest resources. In this role you will provide harvest planning and engineering solutions, expertise in road design and construction while maintaining and improving our safety, environmental and financial objectives.
This role has a great mix of in field and office-based work providing a wide variety of activities to be involved in, such as:
- Preparing operational harvesting plans
- Planning road design and landing layouts
- Stream crossing design & installation
- Supervision of engineering and quarry operations
- Resource consents & environmental monitoring
- Assessing and validating planning options for our logging and roading operations
- Preparing budgets, forecasting and project cost analysis
- Estimating engineering productivity targets
- Maintaining forest engineering databases

**About you**
Are you someone who can think outside the square and come up with innovative solutions?
- Able to work logically and methodically
- A tertiary qualification in Forest Engineering is preferred with a minimum of 3 years practical experience
- Experience using engineering software programmes eg CHPS, RoadENG
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, relationship & influencing skills
- The ability to draw on your experiences to drive process improvements and efficiencies across our forest engineering operations
- The ability to work autonomously, without supervision and to deadlines
- A high level of fitness and a passion for working outdoors
- A Full NZ drivers license
- The ability to work in as part of a small dynamic team
- A strong health, safety and environmental focus
