**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

An opportunity has come up for an enthusiastic and innovative nurse to join the dynamic Neonatal Homecare nursing team in a permanent, part-time capacity. The Neonatal Homecare Service provides a wide range of support for whanau and pēpi after discharge home from NICU. This includes but is not limited to, offering practical mothercrafting advice, feeding and nutrition advice and, supporting some whanau to care for their complex medically fragile pēpi at home, teaching them how to use medical devices.

This truly is the ideal platform for a nurse to develop or extend their neonatal expertise, especially within the community setting. While you will need to work autonomously there is also excellent support and mentoring available from CCN and Nurse Specialists in the team.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**

Excellent supervisory, communication and problem-solving skills are essential in order to relate to and work with staff and families in the community setting. Preferably you will be working towards or have completed a post-graduate qualification in neonatal nursing.

You will have:

- be a registered nurse and will either have or be eligible for registration with NZ Nursing Council
- More than2+ years of neonatal nursing experience in a Tertiary NICU
- Preferable experience in neonatal assessment
- Training in primary health including breastfeeding.
