**Job Description**:
Microchip Technology Inc. is a leading provider of smart, connected and secure embedded control solutions, and is headquartered in Chandler, Arizona.

The Tekron team forms part of the Frequency and Timing Division (FTD) of Microchip Technology, and are a global team who are leading developers of accurate GNSS clocks and time synchronization solutions that enable synchronization of advanced networks and services. Installed in over 80 countries, these solutions are used to provide critical timekeeping in national power grids, enterprise, telecommunications, civilian and military networks.

We are looking for a bright, dynamic, detail-orientated and highly flexible individual to join our FTD Wellington team as an IT Security Engineer.

As a member of our NZ Development Team, you’ll be supporting and safeguarding our IT network and systems by ensuring that policies and procedures are in place and will be integral in ensuring that our products and processes meet and adhere to best-practice standards.

You will require a general understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Office 365, Active Directory, Software patch management, deployment solutions, Windows Server, Unix/Linux, messaging, networking, storage and security.

On a day-to-day basis you will be:

- Identifying and defining system security requirements for our products and working alongside our designer engineers to ensure our products meet security requirements, including protocols such as HTTPS, RADIUS, LDAP and OAuth, and guides such as NZISM and NERC CIP
- Provide advice and assistance to the Development Team on the set up of networks for testing, as well as assisting our Customer Support team with networking-based support cases
- Ensuring that our test processes, scripts and set ups meet best-practice guidelines from a networking and security perspectives
- Educating the team on general IT, networking, security standards and best practice.
- Maintaining our software asset register and ensuring software licences are renewal when required.
- Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting desktop and laptop systems, and network equipment in a diverse environment.
- Analysing, installing, modifying, and supporting operating systems and utilities software.
- Participating in development of information technology and infrastructure projects.
- Providing key technical resource and support of our integration projects, as we integrate our existing systems into the Microchip environment.
- Providing reports on our IT assets it the Microchip IT team.
- Communicating highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Maintaining software asset and licencing registers.
- Procurement of hardware and software.

Requirements/Qualifications:
Ideally you will have:

- A formal tertiary qualification such as a Bachelors degree or relevant experience.
- Experience supporting desktop and server operating systems including networking services.
- Experience administering Active Directory Services.
- Must be willing to work with multiple users on a given day and manage multiple workstreams.
- Must be able to work in a high pressure, fast paced environment.
- Experience working with multiple parties, including internal stakeholders and vendors

Skills that would make you stand out include:

- ITIL Foundation certification
- Experience supporting engineering test set ups
- Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
- Experience with Xero, Salesforce, Unleashed and
