Our client is a family owned hotel in the bustling country town of Reefton, population 1000. The hotel is popular with locals tourists and travellers, offering accommodation and meals. The 45 seat restaurant is open 7 evenings a week, as well as catering for client functions and hotel guest breakfast.

**The Opportunity**
This is an opportunity to join a close-knit friendly team in a small New Zealand town, and ensure the overall smooth and effective operation of the Hotel and accommodation business. Subsidised single person OR family accommodation is available, and this employer is accredited to employ migrants.

Reefton is a vibrant rural community on the main state highway between the West Coast and Canterbury, in the South Island of New Zealand. The town offers a wide range of services, schools & recreation options.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Responsible for the management of the overall operation of the hotel
- Responsible for the financial performance of the operations encompassing revenue, payroll, operational costs and supplementary costs
- Forecasting future performance and confidently reporting on past results
- Provide effective people management, leading recruitment and inductions, job specific training, development plans and performance management, while driving engagement and compliance within the front of house and Food & Beverage teams
- Ensure strict procedures are followed for all cash/credit, cheque transactions, accounting and banking procedures, issue of keys and guest confidentiality
- Carry out Duty Manager duties as required
- Effective liaison with the front of house and housekeeping teams to ensure accuracy in room allocation and maximising of yield.
- Liaise with Housekeeping to ensure room cleanliness standards are maintained while meeting productivity goals
- Ensuring maintenance requests are completed quickly focusing on guest needs as a priority
- Ensure public areas are clean and well presented with regular monitoring
- Work cohesively with Restaurant Manager, Head Chef and Kitchen team to drive creative and engaging food and beverage menus.
- Assist with the development of the annual business plan and financial budget
- Facilitate the smooth running of the hotel/motels through adequate purchase and supply of material and equipment and adherence to the department budgets through the purchase order system and inventory controls
- Responsible for legalization, Occupational Health &Safety Act,fireregulations and other legal requirements

- Salary of $70,000 per annum

**Skills & Experience**:

- Diploma/Degree in Tourism & Hospitality Management or equivalent
- Valid Duty Managers Certificate, ideally
- Honest and reliable with greatcommunication skills
- Leadership skills plus excellent customer service
