We have a position available in the Rural Medical Immersion Programme (RMIP) team as a Marlborough Regional Coordinator (Senior Professional Practice Fellow).

**_ About us/Mō mātou_**

RMIP is a popular Otago Medical School programme for fifth-year medical students, run from the Department of General Practice and Rural Health in the Dunedin School of Medicine.

The programme is currently undertaken by 25 students annually and delivered from seven sites across the South and lower North Islands by a closeknit and enthusiastic team of academic and non-academic teaching staff working in rural clinical practice.

**_ The role/Te mahi_**

This position will be based in Blenheim and will ideally be of interest to a doctor already working in general or hospital practice in Blenheim or the wider Marlborough area.

The Marlborough Regional Coordinator is responsible for the local annual cohort of RMIP students (currently four) based in the area for their academic year (February-October).
- Duties for the role include:

- organising the student’s local programme attachments,
- delivering weekly tutorials and marking quarterly assessments,
- providing pastoral support for students and contributing teaching to the wider programme.

The local programme is well-established and supported by the local practices, hospital and administrator.

There is the potential to consider an academic position (incorporating research) depending on the interests and attributes of those who may wish to apply.

**_ Skills and Experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako_**
- Be medically qualified, with current or planned vocational registration in General Practice and/or Rural Hospital Medicine.
- Be experienced in primary care and/or rural hospital medicine and current or prior experience living and working in a rural community.
- Have interest/experience in the teaching and the learning of undergraduate students in a rural primary care and hospital setting.

This position is a permanent, part-time (0.3FTE) based in Blenheim or the wider Marlborough area. Job share arrangements will also be considered.

The salary range for this position is $138,546 to $172,693 pro rata per annum.
