**Tēnei tūranga - About the Role**:
This is an exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced individual looking to join our Business Support Team, in the Customer branch. You will become a key part of a small and supportive team.

As a business advisor you will bring and further develop your business understanding and perspective to work across INZ and MBIE to ensure our branch’s strategic and operational projects are delivered to best practice.

The role will be varied and will be ideal for someone who is wishing to further develop themselves both professionally and personally - plenty of support will be provided to help you achieve this.
- Customer branch makes it easier for our customers to use the immigration system by educating and hearing our customers, and turning insights into change
- The team supports the branch leadership team and wider branch by providing high quality functional business support and advisory services for business planning, risk management, incident response, ministerial reporting, and statutory accountabilities.
- You would deliver and contribute to the day-to-day work of the branch including planning, performance and reporting, risk management, business continuity planning, continuous improvement and assurance processes.
- You will deliver and provide quality advice and support to teams within the branch to contribute to the continuous improvement of services, systems and processes.
- You will also maintain a well-developed awareness of branch issues, and provide, wherever appropriate, a branch perspective through support and advice, for inclusion into Immigration and MBIE projects, policies and procedures.

**We are keen to hear from you if you have**:

- Experience in a large and/or complex business organisation would be advantageous with knowledge and experience of the machinery of government
- Proven experience in delivering outstanding quality service to internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to quickly assimilate new information and understand unfamiliar issues
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to consistently meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, including an ability to quickly identify risks and issues and possible pathways forward
- Good communication skills, both written and oral
- Political awareness and sensitivity to anticipate areas of potential risk and inform decision-making
- Proven ability to develop trust and credibility with managers and staff
- High integrity and ability in handling sensitive and confidential information
