This is where you come in

The Test Technician in our Gas Lab is is a critical role within our Cooking product development team based on site in central Dunedin. It is a permanent, fulltime role with regular working hours Monday-Friday.

You will be solely responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of our specialist gas lab within the site workshops. The primary focus of the role is to deliver excellent and timely technical support to Cooking Functional Teams and help to gather knowledge throughout the product development processes that leads to final product design decisions. This will include designing and fabricating test rigs, which often include electrical and pneumatic controls and equipment, integrating a variety of instrumentation, and operating these rigs to perform the tests.

It is essential in this role that you can keep up to date with internal and external knowledge of best practices and gas standards that can improve technical support delivery.

Who are we looking for

We are looking for applicants who enjoy the practical, hands-on nature of working with gas, and have skills and experience in all aspects of running and maintaining a gas lab environment. In particular we are looking for relevant experience with equipment calibration, maintenance and Health and Safety.

Key skills that you should bring to this role:

- ability to work with design and test engineers and other stakeholders
- ability to design, modify, and operate test rigs
- experience in setting up and utilising a range of instrumentation, data logging and control equipment
- Ability to interpret data, derive conclusions and recommend / create test procedures and equipment associated.
- skilful in recording, interpreting, and reporting results
- natural problem-solving skills.

A relevant tertiary qualification or a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience is required, ideally in a similar environment.
