National Co-Lead - Clinical - Hepatitis C Project
Part-Time - 0.5 FTE and Full-Time 1.0 FTE
Ora/Healthy Futures vision of a reformed system where people live longer in good health, have improved quality of life, and there is equity between all groups.

The reforms are expected to achieve five system shifts. These are:

- The health system will reinforce Te Tiriti principles and obligations
- All people will be able to access a comprehensive range of support in their local communities to help them stay well
- Everyone will have equal access to high quality emergency and specialist care when they need it
- Digital services will provide more people the care they need in their homes and communities
- Health and care workers will be valued and well-trained for the future health system

This role is a Clinical co-lead in the Māori Health Pipeline, Equity team, Service Improvement and Innovation. The Hepatitis C project is run as a regional pilot (Northern region) as a prototype for a potential national service.
The role will work in partnership with the Commissioning Hepatitis regional lead, and the Northern Region Programme Board, to determine the strategic direction of the regional prototype. The role will work with the Hepatitis C team members, the Māori Health Pipeline, and other key stakeholders (Hepatology, CNS, National Public Health Service/Public Health Units) to define clinical standards and identify systems of care that enable the team to develop the prototype/pilot within the resources available.
The role is a senior and experienced clinical role, suited to primary care or other related discipline skillset, and is up to 1.0 FTE (part time work is supported). The role works closely with a whanau engagement coordinator, data analysts, database developer, public health physician and project support. The role will also support research or evaluation related to Hepatitis C (this prototype and/or related prioritised projects) and may support other Māori Health Pipeline projects with clinical advice.
About you
- You will have a Medical Degree and be vocationally qualified
- Have vocational Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
- Possess significant experience of working in and providing leadership to the primary care or related sector, and/or in Hepatitis C work specifically
