**About the role**
The Protection & Control Engineer helps develop Vector’s electricity network protection systems, primarily for network expansion and upgrade projects. These protection systems are essential to the safe and reliable operation of the Auckland power system.

The role’s primary area of focus will be on our capital projects, with further responsibilities including assisting with fault investigations and responding to customer/stakeholder queries.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to a variety of projects on a scale you don’t find elsewhere, and could be the start of an exciting career with Vector with manifold opportunities for development and progression.

**Who we are looking for**
- Ideally you’ll have a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Electrical Engineering or Electrical Power Systems Engineering, with experience in protection electric power systems
- A familiarity with SCADA and digital communication systems, as well as experience with configuration of Siemens and SEL numerical protection relays, would be an advantage
- Design experience is an added bonus.
