As part of the management laboratory team at Waikato Hospital Laboratory, you will lead a team of 30 enthusiastic scientists and technicians to provide high quality diagnostic services. This position offers the opportunity to use your knowledge as a medical laboratory practitioner and your ability to lead others in an interesting and challenging role.
- Key responsibilities of the role:
- Oversight of staff including recruitment and retention, development, mentoring and management of staff performance.-
- Budget oversight-
- Management of equipment, service agreements, procurement of supplies etc.-
- Selection and implementation of new technologies and associated change management.-
- Strategic planning and service delivery, both at departmental and whole of laboratory level, as part of the wider management team.**Click here** to view the position description.**

**Mōu | About you**
- Skills and experience you will need to be considered for the role:
- You will be a registered as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the Medical Sciences Council-
- Ideally you will have a solid background in Biochemistry and/or Immunology-
- Experience in management will be an advantage***

- Waikato Laboratories are based over 5 sites; the main laboratory in Hamilton and satellite laboratories in Te Kuiti, Taumarunui, Tokoroa and Thames. Based in Hamilton, the Biochemistry and Immunology laboratories perform an extensive range of testing for hospital patients, and process referred specialist testing for the wider community of the Te Manawa Taki (Midland) region.
