**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

Reporting to the Head of Strategy and Advocacy, the Principal Advisor, Portfolio Management will support the overall success of our strategic initiatives. This will involve monitoring, reporting and providing advice on project performance to ensure initiative outcomesdeliver on our strategic goals. You will provide expertise to ensure that equitable outcomes are considered at all stages of strategy and project development and implementation.

You will lead the planning and development of our portfolio of initiatives and provide oversight across these to enable a ‘joined-up’ view of Whānau Āwhina Plunket’s strategic change work. This will include providing advice and assurance to our Executive Leadership Team on risk exposure, change impacts and project interdependencies, as well as identifying and helping remedy any gaps/roadblocks to achieving our strategy.

This role will also offer advice on the delivery of projects and programmes throughout their lifecycle, working closely with project managers, leads and sponsors to support the successful delivery of initiatives and achievement of intended outcomes.

You’ll be our champion of excellence for project management and change management approaches; developing and maintaining Whānau Āwhina Plunket’s project management and change management practices and supporting others to implement these.

You’ll be able to engage successfully at all levels of an organisation, and will bring an organised, logical and methodical approach, alongside the proven ability to influence others.

You will also have/be:

- Tertiary qualification(s) in relevant discipline(s) and/or similar experience
- Significant experience in project or programme management/PMO roles, preferably in the health /social sector or with a Not-for-Profit organisation.
- Strong portfolio management experience across multiple business groups
- Experience of both business change and technology projects, of diverse complexity and scale
- Experience in project assurance, programme governance, and benefits realisation management and delivery
- An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi within a health and/ or social sector
