- Able to deliver and support mana whenua, community groups and others undertaking biodiversity restoration.
- Have proven relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to effectively engage and partner with mana whenua, iwi, hapū and whānau.
- Can navigate through times of pressure, challenge and ambiguity.
- Works collaboratively with others.
- Able to oversee involvement in large collaborative multi-year biodiversity programmes with external partners.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Strategic and tactical thinking skills.

**About the role**:
**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in applied science or biology (conservation based) and/or relevant experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in related field (e.g. land management, conservation, ecological restoration, farm advisory).
- Understanding of lake and wetland ecological processes and restoration techniques.
- Proven success at building relationships and resolving issues with internal and external stakeholders.
