Are you an administrative/PA champion, looking for a new chance to showcase your skills within an exciting organisation, whilst enjoying a better work/life balance? Te Papa Atawhai Department of Conservation has an awesome opportunity for you to bring your A-game to this integral role.
As the Biodiversity Administrator, you will support the Biodiversity System and Aquatic Unit to deliver essential mahi in protecting New Zealand's freshwater and marine environments and achieving future biodiversity and climate change goals. You will work closely with the Biodiversity Administrator in the Terrestrial Biodiversity unit to provide coordinated support across teams.

**The position will be focused on**:

- Coordinating travel plans and bookings
- Managing the calendar and arranging meetings
- Assisting staff with IT and systems issues
- Helping Managers complete any Payroll and HR paperwork for their staff, and be involved in recruitment logistics
- Track any incoming requests from the Minister's Office
- Be a connection between the Unit and other parts of the Department, i.e. Payroll, Government Services, Facilities etc.

This is a fun and varied role, which will give you great insight into the world of science in the Government sector. You will make strong connections right across the organization, with plenty of opportunity for exposure and growth within the technical, strategic, and project space.

- Efficiency in Microsoft Programmes i.e. Outlook, Word, Powerpoint
- Ability to exercise discretion when dealing with sensitive work
- Ability to prioritise and to work under pressure
- Confidence to learn new technical systems quickly
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Excellent attention to detail.

**Desirable**:

- A tertiary qualification in business/administration, or equivalent experience.

Mō te tīma | About the team
The Biodiversity, Heritage & Visitors Group is responsible for translating strategy and policy into action for our operational branches which delivery biodiversity, heritage and visitor and Treaty partnership outcomes. This is the home for our technical expertise and science.
This role reports into the Biodiversity and Climate System team within the Biodiversity System and Aquatic Unit. The administrator and supports managers and staff across the six teams in the unit (three marine-focused teams, two freshwater teams, and the biodiversity and climate system team). The team are passionate about their mahi, and inclusive, with high integrity. Geographically distributed across the country, connection is highly valued to this team.

The salary range for this position is $60,000.00 to $69,400.00 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
