**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**
Auckland's Libraries have a strong community focus and we are an extraordinary destination for the people of Auckland. Our Mobile and Access Library team needs a Community Engagement person with Te reo skills and the ability to connect with Maori communities in need and participate in the delivery of programmes. The focus on the first 12 months is a community led approach to develop and deliver library services for maori. This role also requires supporting the mahi of the Mobile and Access team in various settings such as events, schools, migrant and Refugee communities, kohangareo and kura
**He kōrero mōu: About you**
To be successful in this role you’ll need to have sound knowledge of te au maori, tikanga and te reo. You will be able to collaborate constructively with a range of teams and staff members, and be prepared to support kura and early childhood programmes. We will be using a community led design approach to develop programmes so you will need to be a great facilitator and have good planning skills. Flexibility, adaptability, superb people skills, a willingness to learn, a passion for customer service and a can-do attitude are essential.

This role will be based in our Henderson Library and its offering 40 fulltime hours with some weekend work. We will provide full training and the opportunity to work alongside our Maori Outcomes unit
