The Chief Executive of the New Zealand Disability Support Network (NZDSN) will lead an organisation committed to strengthening and advocating for the disability support sector in New Zealand.
With 175 member organisations, NZDSN plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration, promoting best practices, and influencing meaningful change in government policies affecting disabled people and their support networks.
In this role, you will: Work closely with the Board to shape and deliver strategic plans and operational excellence.
Advocate for the interests of members and the broader disability support community.
Build strong networks across the sector, government, and media to advance NZDSN's objectives.
Oversee the effective operation of the national office, ensuring financial sustainability, robust health and safety practices, and best-in-class service delivery to members.
Lead initiatives to promote research, workforce development, and innovation in disability support.
This is a unique opportunity to influence policy, inspire sector growth, and create meaningful outcomes for people with disabilities across Aotearoa.
We are looking for a passionate and experienced leader who demonstrates: Senior-level experience in NGO or membership-based organisations, including strategic planning and implementation.
A clear understanding of disability systems in New Zealand, the public sector environment, and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Strong relationship-building skills, with a track record of working with government, media, and sector stakeholders to drive impactful change.
Comprehensive skills in financial management, governance, people leadership, and organisational development.
High professional standards, a collaborative approach, and unwavering enthusiasm for advancing the rights and inclusion of disabled people.
A relevant tertiary qualification is essential, with postgraduate credentials or leadership training preferred.

The New Zealand Disability Support Network (NZDSN) is a coalition of organizations dedicated to empowering disabled people and their families through high-quality, equitable support.
Since 2010, we've championed an inclusive New Zealand, guided by the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, the UNCRPD, and mana motuhake (self-determination).
Governed by a Board and supported by a dedicated team, we work closely with members, the disability sector, and policymakers to drive meaningful change and advocate for a better future.
