This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of the operation as the Grower Representative in New Zealand.
The General Manager will be key in developing and implementing strategies to achieve business objectives, enhance operational efficiency, and drive profitability.
With a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and quality control, the General Manager will lead a small team working with their distribution partner to ensure the consistent delivery of fresh, top-quality fruits and vegetables to their customers.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with distributors and providing balanced support are essential to driving and achieving overall business success.
Daily responsibilities include: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and achieve targets.
Oversee all aspects of distribution, including supply, production, distribution, and logistics.
Manage budgets, financial planning, and reporting to optimize profitability and control costs.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
Ensure adherence to strict quality control standards.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and partners.
Provide effective leadership and guidance to the Marketing/Sustainability Manager.
Work closely with the Distributor at the Senior Management Level.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Background required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Administration, Agriculture, or related field.
Experience in a senior general or sales management role ideally within shipping or logistics.
An association to fresh produce and experience dealing with NZ’s large retail players.
Understanding of agricultural practices, supply chain management, and market dynamics.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results.
This role requires a versatile leader who can handle comprehensive responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader, capable of setting and guiding the overall direction while being fully aware of the details.
Building strong relationships with distributors is crucial, along with the ability to engage in firm conversations when necessary.
