Auckland, New Zealand Master Travel Group Limited Full time

Company Overview Founded in 2005, Master Travel Group (MTG) is a leading Pacific travel specialist focused on inbound tourism across key Asian markets. MTG delivers innovative B2 B e Commerce and online booking solutions via a 24/7 platform that provides instant confirmations, competitive pricing, and extensive inventory across hotels, tours, attractions, and airport transfers. Our systems also support XML Host-to-Host integration for global partners, enabling real-time pricing and seamless product distribution.  We are driven by innovation, integrity, and excellence, and are committed to transforming the travel industry through scalable technology and world-class digital integration. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced ICT Project Manager to lead the next-generation transformation of MTG’s global e Commerce and travel distribution platforms. This role will oversee end-to-end delivery of high-performance, distributed systems that power our B2 B booking engine and FIT online booking channels. You will drive the architecture and implementation of microservice-based, metadata-driven, and event-driven platforms, ensuring robust partner connectivity through XML Host-to-Host and REST/Graph QL APIs, and enabling future capability for AI recommendation, dynamic pricing, and data analytics.  Key Responsibilities 1. Platform Architecture & System Delivery Lead the planning, design, and delivery of MTG’s B2 B and FIT online booking platforms using modern Java and cloud-native architectures (e.g., Spring Boot, Web Flux, Graph QL, Kafka). Define and govern distributed microservice ecosystems with a focus on scalability, high concurrency, reliability, and maintainability.  Ensure architectural consistency across core domains including product inventory, pricing, booking, settlement, customer service workflows, and partner distribution. 2. Partner Integration & Connectivity Build, optimise, and maintain XML Host-to-Host and RESTful/Graph QL API integrations to automate real-time data exchange with global travel partners.  Oversee integration standards, mapping, versioning, and partner onboarding processes to reduce manual handling and improve time-to-market. 3. Project Leadership & Governance Own project scope, milestones, schedules, budgets, resourcing, and risk management across multiple ICT initiatives. Lead delivery using Agile or hybrid methodologies, ensuring fast and safe releases without compromising platform stability.  Produce and maintain comprehensive project documentation, technical specifications, test reports, and final deliverables. 4. Dev Ops, Cloud-Native Operations & Performance Drive Dev Ops practices including CI/CD automation, observability, environment standardisation, and release governance. Lead cloud-native deployment and optimisation on AWS, leveraging Docker and Kubernetes-based environments for elasticity and resilience.  Ensure fault tolerance, performance tuning, secure operation, and disaster-recovery readiness across distributed services. 5. Security, Quality & Continuous Improvement Embed security and quality assurance into the full development lifecycle, including systematic risk assessment and vulnerability management. Implement continuous improvement based on platform monitoring, partner feedback, and operational analytics.  Promote best-practice engineering standards and quality frameworks aligned with enterprise delivery. 6. Digital Roadmap & Innovation Enablement Partner with leadership to define and execute MTG’s digital transformation roadmap, including AI-enabled recommendations, dynamic pricing engines, and data insight modules. Evaluate emerging travel-tech solutions and integration opportunities to enhance product breadth, distribution reach, and customer experience.
