We serve a growing number of merchants across New Zealand and are committed to providing ongoing local technical support, feature upgrades, and customised solutions. Key Responsibilities Maintain and manage company databases that store POS transaction records, payment data, and daily sales information. Ensure data from POS terminals, payment gateways, and ordering systems is correctly collected, synced, and stored. Monitor database performance and fix issues such as slow queries, data delays, or missing records. Support the development team by providing clean, accurate data for POS features, reporting tools, and merchant dashboards. Set up regular data backups and help manage data security, access control, and recovery procedures. Build simple data processes or scripts to clean, organise, and update transaction and payment data. Work with engineers to improve how POS systems send and receive data across our cloud servers. Prepare clear documentation for database structures, data flows, and maintenance routines. Skills & Experience Required Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. At least 3 years of experience in database administration, data engineering, or similar roles. Good knowledge of relational databases (e.g., My SQL, Postgre SQL, SQL Server). Ability to manage, clean, and organise large volumes of POS transaction and payment data. Understanding of database security, backups, and performance optimisation. Experience with simple ETL workflows or data integration is preferred.
