**About the Company**

Dear Motors Limited is a Hamilton-based automotive and mechanical engineering service workshop specialising in the **repair, servicing, and maintenance of light and heavy vehicles**, as well as mechanical components and systems. The business provides diagnostics, reconditioning, fabrication, and assembly services for engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.

We are seeking an experienced and qualified **General Fitter** to join our workshop team, contributing to the inspection, repair, and assembly of mechanical parts and systems used in a wide range of vehicles and machinery.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Inspect, dismantle, repair, and reassemble vehicle mechanical systems, engines, gearboxes, transmissions, differentials, and suspension components.
- Fit, align, and adjust fabricated or machined components to ensure precise operation and safe performance of vehicles and mechanical systems.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and perform maintenance or overhaul work on engines and auxiliary components.
- Fabricate, weld, or modify brackets, frames, and mounting parts where necessary. - Cut, thread, bend, and install **hydraulic and pneumatic lines** for lifts, brake systems, and mechanical assemblies.
- Read and interpret **engineering drawings and service manuals** to identify work methods and specifications.
- Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, dial gauges, verniers) to verify tolerances and clearances.
- Operate and maintain workshop machinery, including lathes, milling machines, presses, and grinders.
- Ensure workplace safety standards, equipment maintenance, and quality control procedures are consistently met.

**Skills and Experience Required**
- Minimum **3 years of proven experience** as a Mechanical Fitter, Automotive Fitter, or in a similar trade.
- Solid mechanical knowledge and practical experience with **hydraulic, pneumatic, and vehicle mechanical systems**.
- Ability to interpret **technical drawings, repair manuals, and specifications**.
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail within a fast-paced workshop environment. - Commitment to teamwork, safety, and quality workmanship.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $31.00 - $36.00 per hour
