Director, ISSP Implementation – two years fixed term

We are looking for a Senior Programme leader to join our team and drive our ICT investment programme to new heights.

The Office of the Auditor-General | Te Mana Arotake (the Office) is focused on significantly enhancing its influence and impact on the public sector to deliver better results for Aotearoa New Zealand. The Office is dedicated to making a difference to the lives of New Zealanders, and we want our work to have greater impact in the future.

We have a new two-year fixed term role for a Director, ISSP Implementation. The Director, ISSP Implementation will be responsible for planning and executing the work programme of the Digital Strategy, and Information Systems Strategic Plan (ISSP). The Programme is a mix of must-do migration to the cloud to manage ICT environment resilience, as well as delivering on business transformation outcomes.

While building on existing success and guiding the programme through a process of re-costing and re-setting to set it up well for completion, the Director, ISSP Implementation will work closely with the CIO and is also responsible for leading the ISSP Team, ensuring the Office has appropriate programme and project methods and standards.

You will need to have:

  • proven track record in managing large-scale ICT and business transformation programmes;
  • extensive experience in ICT programme development and management, and project management;
  • proven experience in people-centric change management;
  • experience managing and leading a programme management function;
  • relevant training/experience in Agile methodology and practice;
  • a tertiary qualification is advantageous.

You must be able to gain and maintain a Confidential national security clearance. Ordinarily, this means that you must be a New Zealand citizen, be a permanent resident, or hold a current residency class visa and intend to become a citizen when eligible. You must have a five-year checkable background in NZ, UK, USA, Canada, or Australia.

The expected salary is between $190,000 and $210,000 per annum.
