We focus on building their capability, confidence, sustainability, and voice and our vision is "a resourced, skilled, and cohesive for-purpose sector enabling communities to flourish."

  • Ability to work independently, while collaborating effectively with the SociaLink and Volunteering Services teams.
  • Flexible, responsive and able to work autonomously whilst effectively managing deadlines.
  • Not-for-profit experience very desirable but not essential.

MŌ TE TŪRANGA | About the role

Media Relations:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key media contacts in Tauranga and the wider Bay of Plenty.
  • Suggest opportunities for media releases and public engagement.
  • Draft and distribute media releases, background media information and support blog writing by the Chief Executive and other team members on relevant issues.

  • Ensure all content is consistent with SociaLink's brand and messaging.

Communications Advice:

  • Develop Communications Strategies for campaigns on social issues or events such as Volunteer Week, in collaboration with relevant team members.

  • Flexibility in the hours and location you work (i.e., Hybrid).
  • To work at and be a part of The Kollective, an innovative, co-working space for not-for-profits.
  • Grow and extend your networks across the not-for-profit sector across the Western Bay of Plenty.

At SociaLink, there is no such thing as the "perfect candidate." We understand that seeing a list of responsibilities and competencies can feel a bit daunting, and it's natural to sometimes question our abilities. Just know that we include these details to give you a better sense of the role and who we are. We hope you see them as an opportunity and an invitation, rather than a strict checklist.

Note:

  • Only applicants with the legal right to work in New Zealand will be considered for this role.
  • This role with SociaLink will be governed by an Independent Contractor Agreement. The contractor will invoice monthly and is responsible for managing their own taxes.
