Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
The Research & Innovation (R&I) department are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Contracts Advisor to join our dynamic team. This is a unique and varied role where you will play a critical part in facilitating and supporting research and innovation, from initial funding through to commercialisation.

As a Research Contracts Advisor, you will provide expert advice, guidance, and support in the establishment, management, and oversight of research and consultancy contracts. You will work collaboratively with academic staff, internal teams such as Financial Services, Departments and Institutes, as well as external organisations and funders to ensure the smooth administration and management of contracts and financial reporting processes.

Mōu | Who You Are
To be successful in this role you will have experience in a senior administrative role, providing guidance on policies, procedural guidelines, contracting and risk management, and have:

  • Experience in contracting, risk management, and ideally procurement, with a clear understanding of intellectual property rights.
  • Knowledge of budget formulation, basic accounting practices, and financial reporting.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail when managing multiple contracts with varied terms and conditions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with internal teams and external partners effectively.
  • Experience using databases to manage contracts and related documentation efficiently.

The role of Research & Innovation is to provide end-to-end services which facilitate and support all stages of research and innovation development, from initial funding through to commercialisation. We are a friendly team supporting over-arching vision and leadership within UC's award-winning and prestigious research arena. As a team, we work collaboratively and are skilled in creative thinking to build national and international linkages for fundamental and applied research.
