About the role:

Joining MUFG New Zealand as Director you will lead one of MUFG's 3 key sector coverage teams reporting to the Head of Global Corporate and Investment Banking (GCIB) NZ.

You will have responsibility for managing a portfolio of existing clients based in New Zealand. This includes originating and execution of transaction opportunities for existing clients across the bank's product capabilities and coordinating the on-boarding of new clients within the target sectors.

The role includes collaborating and coordinating with product partners, internal stakeholders and colleagues within the broader MUFG global network to ensure optimal client coverage.

What you'll be doing:

In your role as Director, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Work with Head of GCIB NZ, play an integral role in developing a successful NZ business plan that drives revenue growth and meets our customer's objectives.
  • Understand the competitive landscape and identify opportunities for growth as well as risks.
  • Lead the promotion of products to customers and identify and promote cross selling opportunities.
  • Be the day-to-day first point of contact for all client needs across a portfolio of existing clients.
  • Assist and support the execution of value-added solutions involving event financing, loans and bonds, project financing, advisory, transaction banking and global markets flow products.
  • Lead and support the team to build effective relationships with key customers to develop new business and to deliver extraordinary customer experiences.

What We Are Looking For:

  • 7-10 years' experience within banking, finance or relevant sector experience.
  • Undergraduate Business / Commerce / Law Degree from a leading university is essential.
  • Demonstrable experience in excellent client coverage and leadership.
  • Extensive market and industry knowledge.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to develop new revenue / cross selling opportunities.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to influence others.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with other departments.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role providing guidance and mentorship to a developing team.
