The role/Te mahi
Our highly regarded Payroll team delivers trustworthy centralised payroll services for approximately 4500 employees across all our campuses. With a diverse workforce and a wide variety of employment arrangements to understand and administer, you will be challenged and kept busy.
As part of the Processing team, you will be responsible for time-critical tasks to prepare, calculate and deliver our pay runs and complete associated 3rd party procedures.
You will have the support of the broader Payroll team, a comprehensive HR infrastructure, and colleagues across the wider Human Resources Division.
Successful candidates will have:
- Proven experience in a busy and/or complex payroll operational function.
- A sound understanding of current NZ employment law and HR practices.
- A reputation for attention to detail and accuracy.
- A passion for delivering exceptional service to customers.
- A belief in being a positive team member and working collegially.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence with technology, including the Microsoft suite of programmes, especially Excel.
- Proven experience in an environment where confidentiality and professional boundaries are expected.
- Dedication to working in a culturally safe and respectful manner, including understanding and appreciation of Te Ao Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and Pasifika values.

We have two full-time (37.5 hours per week) positions available. One is permanent and one is fixed-term parental leave cover, for approximately 12 to 14 months.
Both roles are based in Dunedin.

The appointment salary range for this role is $61,360 to $65,879. Top of the range is $71,150 per annum.
