Job Description

The role of Admissions and Quality Coordinator in the University of Waikato College is to deliver high quality admission advice to future domestic and international students and agents in a timely and efficient manner. The role provides expert assistance in relation to applicants and entry requirements to education agents and students, the University, and Navitas. This involves processing direct and agent applications for College programmes, entering data, issuing offers, tracking conversion activity, and ensuring that excellent customer service and quality standards are maintained.

The role also provides administrative support with the academic quality assurance processes, academic integrity, and support for academic committees. This includes preparing agendas, recording minutes, preparation of internal and external communications, database management and other secretarial tasks.

Reporting to the Admissions Manager this role works closely with the College Director, Academic Manager and Student Experience Manager by utilising a collaborative team approach, engaging in efficient practices which are observed through the productive completion of daily tasks.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Tertiary academic qualification(s).
  • Relevant work experience preferably in a tertiary education setting.
  • An understanding of New Zealand/overseas education systems.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills including the ability to deal effectively with clients by phone, e-mail and in person.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills that enable accurate and independent preparation of written correspondence on a range of student admissions and academic quality matters.
  • Experience in using various student management systems and CRM systems, including proficiency in the MS Office suite.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the provision of a high-quality client-focused service.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of tasks with competing priorities in an organized manner and within strict deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of admissions policies and procedures pertaining to administration and admission of undergraduate students, both domestic and international.
  • Knowledge of or the regulatory framework relating to international and domestic students.
  • Additional language skills.
