About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Registered Nurse to coordinate, assess, plan, and delegate patient care using goal setting and rehabilitation principles.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to promote hospital avoidance, earlier discharge, prevent re-admissions, and establish mechanisms to avoid later hospital admission.

Waikato Hospital is a major regional hospital serving as the regional hub for the Midland area, which includes the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts.

With around 722 inpatient beds, 22 operating theatres, and a dedicated outpatient clinic and procedure centre, Waikato Hospital provides comprehensive hospital services, including radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have a current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and hold a degree in nursing or equivalent.

You will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
