About The Role

The primary purpose of this role is to manage all the financial aspects of the organisation and its subsidiaries. This includes the leadership of a small Finance Team, supporting them with their roles, empowering and growing their skills and capabilities, and ensuring that they carry out their responsibilities in an accurate and timely fashion. Beyond this, the key responsibilities within this role include:

  1. Provide strategic advice and governance to relevant stakeholders, including senior leadership, the board and Audit and Risk Committee, relating to the organisations financial performance and policy, business operations and compliance, enabling them to make informed decisions.
  2. Oversee the preparation and completion of long term planning and project related spend and specific budgets and forecasts.
  3. Oversee, prepare and complete all financial and consolidated management reporting requirements.
  4. Manage all the group tax and compliance requirements.
  5. Oversee the maintenance of all the organisation and subsidiaries assets.
  6. Overall accountability for the teams financial processing.
  7. Support advisory relating to ad-hoc project requirements across the organisation that may impact the finance team, including relevant IT transformation projects occurring across the business.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a Senior Finance Leadership role and be excited about contributing to and joining an organisation that makes a real difference to the lives of many New Zealanders. You'll also ideally possess the following experience and qualifications.

  1. A CA qualification (or similar).
  2. Experience taking ownership of finance function for an organisation of similar size and scale.
  3. In depth experience in modelling, scenario analysis, and providing strategic advice and direction to SLT and Board level stakeholders.
  4. Tier One reporting experience.
  5. Experience in managing and developing the performance of teams.
  6. Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
