Are you an inspirational and dedicated SEND Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs? We are seeking a passionate and skilled SEND Teacher to join our specialist school in Mid-Cornwall. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive and dynamic environment, helping young people achieve their full potential.
About the Role
As a SEND Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), complex learning difficulties, and communication needs.
- Create a nurturing and structured learning environment that supports pupils' emotional, social, and academic development.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and other support staff to provide holistic support tailored to each pupil.
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
- Promote positive behaviour management and use a range of strategies to support pupils with complex needs.
- Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent SEND teaching qualifications.
Experience in teaching pupils with SEND, ideally in a specialist or inclusive setting.
A creative and adaptable approach to teaching, with the ability to personalise learning.
Strong knowledge of differentiation strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A compassionate, patient, and resilient nature.
Experience working with pupils with ASD, complex learning needs, or communication difficulties (desirable).
