We're searching for a passionate Solution Consultant in the data and AI domain to drive pre-sales activities and support the growth of Qrious, the Data and AI Service Line within Spark.

As a Solution Consultant you will be working directly with the Qrious Sales team and customers to understand client needs and to design and sell data and AI solutions that address these needs.

You will collaborate closely with our Advisory and Delivery teams to develop a deep understanding of the leading solutions, capabilities and technologies we have at Qrious, and across the Spark Group, to best position these for solutions that deliver real value for our clients.

This role is critical within Qrious and is the key link between Customers and our Consulting teams. You will work alongside some of New Zealand's best Data Strategists, Engineers and Architects and be able to clearly articulate what each of these areas covers as well as how each can be used to deliver valuable outcomes for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-sales, requiring a business, technical and commercial skill set.
  • Building, supporting and growing strong relationships across internal stakeholders at Qrious and Spark Group, and with our strategic partners and customers.
  • Presenting in front of senior audiences and distilling complex solutions and technologies into simple explanations.
  • Working alongside our Sales team, building relationships, understanding client requirements and then designing solutions and building proposals that follow best practice commercial guidelines.
  • Close collaboration with delivery teams, thus ensuring good solution design and fit with capability.
  • Taking proactivity and ownership of pre-sales activities, via actively engaging with potential clients to understand their needs, anticipate challenges, and identify opportunities.
  • Driving the end-to-end pre-sales process, from qualifying leads to crafting compelling, client-centric proposals.

  • Demonstrable experience in the realm of data and AI, preferably experienced in technical advisory and solution architecture.
  • A passion for technology, data and AI.
  • Understanding emerging data and AI technologies, such as generative AI, machine learning platforms, or real-time analytics, and the ability to articulate these to clients.
  • Experience working with and/or selling Business Intelligence or Analytics tools, software, or solutions.
  • Experience working with Modern Data Platform technologies, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience designing public cloud-based solutions (AWS and/or Azure in particular).
  • Hands-on experience designing and delivering Proof of Concepts (POCs) to demonstrate solution feasibility and value to clients.
  • Experience creating effective pre-sales documents, such as Proposals, RFP's, and Statements of Work, tailoring them to address specific customer challenges and business outcomes.
  • Strong Presentation Skills with the ability to craft influential stories and distil complex technical concepts into business-friendly language for diverse audiences.
  • Strong relationship building skills for our clients, partners, and the wider Spark Group.
