Construction/Ops Manager

An innovative main contractor has had great success over the years growing from strength to strength. They have delivered to a range of sectors from $10M - $70M and covering new builds commercial such as low/medium rise apartments, office blocks, warehousing, major refurbishments, major reclads, education, retirement villages, and sports facilities. Their individual project teams are incentivised financially to return a profit on the job helping to drive personal performance. They focus on getting the right people aboard and creating a collaborative and open team culture.
Reporting into the Senior Leadership Team + Board, the Operations Manager that will assume responsibility for overall performance over the execution and delivery of their project portfolio.
The Role- Ensuring overall operational excellence.
- Taking accountability for providing strong leadership for all operational staff including all SM's, PM's, Engineers and project support staff.
- Overseeing performance and results on projects including overseeing construction methodologies, quality, productivity, and cost management.
- Staff development and training.
- Providing technical support.
- H&S Management and support.
- Management of risk and all operational matters.
- Providing input into the strategic direction and business planning working with the Leadership team.
- Reporting to the Board, performing management reporting.
- Business Development and Networking.
- At least 15 years' experience and currently at Project Director/Construction/Operations Manager level within a commercial construction company worked across the delivery of a range of projects simultaneously over $20M.
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications such as Construction Management and/or Trade qualifications.
- Strong construction business operational knowledge.
- Strong understanding of the commercial side of the business.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills are a must, along with the ability to manage with mana, the overall business and staff to defined outcomes and deliverables.
- Highly client/customer driven with outstanding relationship management skills.
- Ability to display an enthusiastic and energetic approach to the role, lifting the energy and positivity towards the tasks at hand and outcomes desired within the business.
- Strong construction technology systems experience along with organisational skills.
Salary: $250K - $270K + Vehicle + Bonus Package
