We are looking for a Graduate Accountant to join our Corporate Finance Team as the Assistant Management Accountant. This is a great role to step into if you want to be part of a great team culture and gain valuable experience.

The Corporate Finance Team, part of the Financial Services Directorate, is responsible for the management accounting services of the University's Corporate and Centralised functions. This team provides support to eight Executive Team members and over 400 full-time equivalent staff across their portfolios. Additionally, the team is responsible for managing the accounts of AUT subsidiaries.

AUT's Finance professionals support AUT's strategic objectives by delivering financial sustainability and excellence with a focus on continuous improvement on fit-for-purpose systems and processes that provide financial stewardship while being a place people love to work and learn.

To be successful, you will need:

  • A degree qualification in Accounting with some accounting experience.
  • An understanding of accounting principles, analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, self-management abilities, customer focus, and a can-do attitude.
  • Lateral approach with the drive and determination to take on further responsibility.
  • Flexibility, willingness to learn, confidentiality, and a sense of humour.
