Nokia's Network Infrastructure group is at the heart of a revolution to bring more and faster network capacity to people worldwide through our ambition, innovation, and technical expertise.

The Oceania Customer Engineering team, as part of the Fixed Networks (FN) competency

A friendly team of engineers across New Zealand & Australia and our work mainly involves Design test and integration activities related to FN products (Fibre, Copper and Fixed Wireless Access, SDN) for various customers in New Zealand, including those in the Pacific Islands.

Initially, you will be mainly interfacing with our engineering team on a daily basis and regularly with others in the wider FN Oceania team.

What you will learn and contribute to

As part of our team, you will:

  • Get trained on the products and technologies that you will eventually be working on.
  • The training will consist of formal as well as on the job training
  • Be performing design, testing and solution verification and validation of Network elements and their management systems
  • Be involved with writing the relevant design, test and procedural documents
  • Be involved in doing presentations to the customers when required in your area of work/expertise

Your skills and experience

You have:

  • Successfully undertaken hands on technical project work during your engineering studies
  • Great communication and task management skills

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Some understanding of Telco networks and associated technologies
  • Some sort of experience in telecommunications domain e.g. during project work, but is not mandatory
  • Experience with software coding methodology, scripting and automation, Java, Python etc
