Southern Cross' North Harbour hospital is looking for an experienced Clinical Resource Nurse to join our fun, dynamic and professional team.

North Harbour offers a wide range of surgical services and post-operative care to around 6,500 patients each year.

Our surgical specialities include General surgery, Gynaecology, Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, Urology, Orthopaedics, Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, Urology, Otolaryngology and Robotics.

We currently have a full time Clinical Resource Nurse position available in one of our Orthopaedic theatres.

This is a senior position and will suit an experienced team player who will inspire our team in their drive for excellence in the provision of quality surgical care here at North Harbour.

Ideally you will be an experienced nurse with good interpersonal skills, to maintain and create strong clinical relationships with our visiting surgeons and fellow healthcare professionals.


North Harbour Hospital has 8 Operating Rooms, a 14 bedded PACU, a modern well equipped day stay facility unit and a 70 bedded ward which includes a 4 bedded intermediate care facility (ICF).

At North Harbour you will be given the opportunity to advance your surgical experience, our Operating Rooms nurses provide surgical assisting to our Consultants in the operating department.

To join our friendly team, ideally you will have:

  • A current NZ nursing practising certificate
  • A Minimum Level 3 PDRP or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years' postregistration experience and orthopaedic competency
  • Proven leadership experience in a nursing leadership role e.g., Shift Coordinator, Team Leader, roles that provide direction and delegation, people management etc.,
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a proactive positive attitude
  • Actively promotes culturally safe clinical practice and the integration of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi into the provision of patient care
  • Post graduate qualifications in health care
