_Pact is currently looking for a part time__ Community Support Worker to work in our Fetu Ola Pasifika service in the Wellington area._**
The Role
Our Fetu Ola community service is looking for an individual who enjoys engaging with the Pacific community and building strong connective links and pathways in the area.
We are seeking an individual who will inspire, encourage, be a role model, plus have excellent interpersonal skills and a 'can do' attitude.
Your role will include coordinating meaningful activities, encouraging client participation, assistance with daily house tasks, and supporting individuals to set and achieve their goals.
Your days may vary, but will consist of:
- Engaging with clients
- Encouraging client participation in day to day life
- Supporting them with activities of daily living
- Supporting clients with personal hygiene
- Activities within the community
- Supporting social and whanau connection
- Motivating clients to know they have purpose
- Ensuring client processes are accurately documented
- Most importantly supporting them to have fun and live fulfilling lives
As we operate 24/7, hours of work will include day, evening, weekend and awake night shifts.
The hours of work are at present: hours per fortnight
Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 5 pm
- Desired Skills and Experience
Excellent communication and networking skills with the ability to build and sustain working relationships with our client, staff and external agencies is essential.
A level 4 or other relevant qualification in mental health is also desirable but not essential.
Otherwise, there is an expectation that you will be willing to start working towards obtaining a level 4 mental health qualification after your first year of employment.
- A full driver's licence and computer skills are essential.
- If on a work visa, this must be valid for at least twelve months
- Must be available for an interview in **Wellington
