Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Waikato Full time

Where you'll be working:
Pharmacy Services, Waikato Hospital

The details:
Permanent - 40 Hours per week (1 FTE)

Want a step in your career or a move to a bigger tertiary hospital? Come work with us at Waikato Hospital to help build our compounding service, provide oversight of dispensing of compounded products obtained from external contractors and oversight and training of other pharmacy technicians.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced pharmacy technician (level 5 or 6) to join our Pharmacy Service in a senior role.

Responsibility and accountability for keeping the technician team motivated and supported are key to the role so this position will be well suited to an organised, balanced technician with well-developed aseptic compounding skills.

Previous experience in hospital pharmacy and or a compounding facility is desirable.

You will be working as part of a larger pharmacy team also, in particularly supporting your other Senior Pharmacy technician colleagues, so will get to know and contribute to other parts of the pharmacy service also.

A great role for someone keen to develop their leadership capabilities and have variety in their role. Remuneration will sit on the pharmacy technician 'designated position' scale to reflect these additional responsibilities.

This 1 FTE permanent position will be spread over a Monday to Friday roster with occasional rostered Saturdays and Public Holiday involvement.

Training and further learning is encouraged and supported.
