You will be the initial point of contact in New Zealand for all our non-operational overseas personnel as part of the Human Resources Service Centre (HRSC) and the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF).

This is a busy role who provide assistance and support with a wide range of queries and ensuring all information is kept up to date.


Duties for this role will include:

  • Providing advice around policies and entitlements for different situations;
  • Updating details on internal systems to reflect personnel changes;
  • Providing briefings to personnel going overseas;
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders as needed; and
  • Assisting other case managers with workload as needed.

Please Note:
The formal title for this role within NZDF is Non-Operational Postings Admin Case Manager.

You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to relate to a diverse range stakeholders and personnel, along with the ability to build trust, show empathy and push back as required.

You will be results orientated with a great attitude, have an ability to adapt to changing circumstances and competing priorities, have exceptional attention to detail and have an inquisitive nature to get to the root issues and find solutions.


You will also have:

  • Strong customer service background;
  • Exceptional organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload efficiently;
  • Knowledge of the NZDF or genuine interest to learn; and
  • Strong technical ability, including a high proficiency in MS Office Suite, as well as the confidence to quickly learn new technical systems.

The Human Resources Service Centre (HRSC) is a team of professional people who are passionate about HR Administration, balanced with the responsibility and accountability for effective and efficient use of public resources.

We focus on the delivery of services by developing strong relationships with our customers and respecting the different traditions and aspirations of our services and their staff.

The HRSC responsible for providing HR Administration and Payroll support to all NZDF Personnel. It's a one-stop-shop for all staff to have their HR needs met by a client focused specialist HR group.

This allows the NZDF to improve the efficiency and costs of our support functions, in favour of enhancing our military capability.

Every hour of every day, 365 days of the year, the New Zealand Defence Force is contributing to the defence, security and well-being of Aotearoa / New Zealand.
