We have a full-time, permanent role available for a Lead Civil Engineer to join the Roads team in Wellington.


We are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer who is capable of leading highway design teams delivering complex design solutions under a range of contractual conditions.

This role requires an excellent understanding of the design process and the ability to motivate and lead teams of people.

You will work closely with other civil disciplines, providing digital and innovative solutions to our clients. There will be an opportunity to work on some of the most exciting projects in New Zealand.

Here are the key things you will do to 'bring ideas to life':

  • Lead the highway corridor design aspects of projects from concept through to detailed design, ensuring that they are suitable for tender and construction
  • Assist in the mentorship and guidance of team members
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Be part of a supportive team that works together to meet our client's goals

We are looking for a qualified civil engineer with a demonstrated experience delivering complex design solutions.

You will need to possess:

  • Experience and an indepth understanding of delivering highway elements within the delivery of projects
  • An understanding of local NZ standards
  • The ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and be comfortable communicating with clients, contractors and the wider team
