Your Skills:

  • Degree in Engineering, specialising in electronics, mechatronics or similar
  • Proven 5 years' experience in Railway Signals Engineering

Your Role:


Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader Signals, you will support KiwiRail in delivering technical excellence, continuous improvement, and satisfaction to our customers and stakeholders.

You'll be responsible for assisting with engineering aspects of design and maintenance work for railways infrastructure signals assets.

Your primary role responsibilities include:

  • Producing design solutions for signals assets.
  • Providing technical advice for the maintenance and upgrade of signals assets.
  • Supporting the development of longterm asset management strategies for signals assets.
  • Providing advice for maintenance and renewal projects, managing contracts and liaising with third parties.
  • Supporting training and supervision of junior engineers, providing technical guidance and mentoring.
  • Producing and reviewing technical documentation, specifications, standards and instructions.
