He angitūtanga | About the role

We are seeking a talented and driven Personal Assistant to join us and to help make a lasting impact for biodiversity in Aotearoa, New Zealand and in international waters.

As one of the key administration supporters to the managers and the wider Unit, you will be the Unit go-to.

You will help managers complete any Payroll and HR paperwork for their staff, be involved in recruitment logistics, track any incoming requests from the Minister's Office, and will often be a connection between the Unit and other parts of the Department, i.e.

Payroll, Government Services, Facilities etc.

With your can-do attitude and your engaging and personable manner, you will have the ability to connect and collaborate with a wide range of people.

If you have the following attributes, we are keen to hear from you:

  • PA or administration support experience.
- highly organised with the ability to manage schedules, calendars, and tasks effectively.
- ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- strong attention to detail coupled with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and manage time.
- proficient in Microsoft Programmes i.e. Outlook, Word, Adobe, MS teams

  • IT savvy with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- ability to exercise discretion when dealing with confidential/ sensitive work.
- a positive can-do attitude and excellent communications skills.

Desirable
- experience in travel and event coordination.
- knowledge/understanding of Government.

Mō te tīma | About the team

This is an exciting and varied role, which will give you great insight into the world of biodiversity, climate and aquatic advice within the Government sector and will help you establish strong working relationships across many parts of the Department.

You will be working with the team leading the implementation of Te Mana o te Taiao - Aotearoa New Zealand Biodiversity Strategy and coordination of DOC's climate change work.

You will become a key member of the leadership team supporting a range of biodiversity and climate system, marine and freshwater professionals.

The salary range for this position is $66,535 to $83,906 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.

Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory - this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
