The Opportunity:

On their behalf we are seeking a Northland Regional Managerfor a seniorleadership role, to oversee the Northland based business units, of 3 regional branches, and several transfer stations.

Based in Whangarei, the position holds operational and financial management of the region's business units.

This includes fostering a strong safety culture and implementing continuous improvement principles to enhance efficiency, productivity, service quality, and cost-effectiveness throughout theregion.

It is essential that the new Northern Regional Manager is a good fit interms of company values, and culture, community involvement, customer relationships and someone who will proudly uphold the company's brand and reputation.

We are seeking a leader who will invest their time and energy and will want to keep growing within the organisation.

For the right person, there is potential to expand the role beyond its current scope to a General Manager role.


The Role in more detail:

Lead a team consisting of 3 Branch Managers equipping them with the necessary tools to effectively lead their respective teams.

(Approximately 200 indirect reports), Be a visible leader.
Spend time in each of the branches.

Coach and mentor the team to grow as individuals, and as a team, so together they achieve the company's strategic goals.

Implement best practice, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
Foster effective work habits and maintain discipline and motivation necessary for sustained growth.
Identify and nurture talent within the team, providing opportunities for growth and talent development for the future.

Embed a culture of Health & Safety excellence throughout the operation, prioritizing the safety and well-being of all team members.

Make sure the team always gets home safely.
Be the conduit between Northland branches, facilitating communication, developing frameworks, and streamlining collaborative efforts.
Identify areas for improving efficiencies, such as fleet optimization, route enhancements, and cost-saving measures.
Manage the region's P&L, ensuring financial targets are met and exceeded where possible.
Develop capital expenditure plans, including the acquisition of additional plant and equipment as necessary to support operational needs.
Work closely with the COO and CEO in strategic planning initiatives.
Drive sales growth through active participation in sales initiatives and fostering key customer relationships.
Assistance in managing Council contracts.
Develop and deliver strategies that align with the company's sustainability philosophy, promoting environmental responsibility and long-term viability.

About you:

Strong commercial experience, with an ability to drive business growth through strategic planning and effective management Leadership experience from the logistics, engineering or construction industries would also be of interest.

Proven track record as an influential, hands-on people manager, with at least 8 years of experience leading teams.
Able to cultivate a culture of high achievement and accountability.
Outstanding interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
Dedication to driving efficiencies to improve performance and productivity.
A strategic and analytical thinker, coupled with strong financial and business acumen.
Proficiency in analysing and understanding the P&L and financial performance.
Strong business planning and reporting capability.
High regard for safe working practices.
A tertiary qualification in a related discipline is desirable but not essential.
