Tēnei tūranga - About the Role: We are looking for a top notch communications professional for a permanent opportunity within MBIE's Engagement, Communications and Ministerial Services Branch.

In this roles you'll get to support a wide variety of operational areas spanning tenancy, employment, business, building, and with our recovery work from recent Cyclone and flooding events amongst a diverse portfolio of work in the Te Whakatairanga Service Delivery Group.

The Engagement and Communications team is at the hub of our media and stakeholder interactions. You will be collaborative, people-focused and thrive under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. You will be innovative in your approach to delivering best practice, customer-focused communications and engagement services.

Working as part of a great team of advisors, you will be encouraged and supported to contribute to the excellent communications service we deliver to the Ministry and our external stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience as a senior communications professional who is able to think on your feet, work under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong experience in delivering multifaceted internal engagement and communications projects
  • The ability to establish and build strong working relationships with senior managers, staff and key internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the Machinery of Government (Ministers' offices, ministerial and government processes)
  • A good understanding of the New Zealand media environment
  • A proactive, cando attitude with a high level of initiative, sound judgement and discretion.
