We are seeking an experienced, and operationally focused individual to join our Wellington team in the role of Operations Supervisor.


This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations, supporting our team of over 45 drivers to deliver a range of transport services across the Wellington Region.

You will be responsible for ensuring our fleet of vehicles are ready, our team of drivers know the plan and we deliver on every promise we make to our customers.


Tranzit Coachlines Wellington covers a range of services from School Bus routes, private contracts, charter and tour work over cruise season.

This is an exciting time to join the team as NZ tourism is booming and we are gearing up for the upcoming season.

If you are looking for a role that is varied and dynamic, then this is the job for you


This is a fast-paced, exciting industry and this position will suit someone who thrives on change and quick, methodical decision making.

Your task will be to ensure our network is always functioning over a 7-day period.

Work hours can vary due to the nature of our industry with management support after hours as and when required.


You will be responsible for:

  • The daytoday operations of our, charter and school bus networks, and ensure we are delivering safe, reliable, and quality transport,
  • Rostering our Fleet and Drivers,
  • Work closely with our drivers and foster a team culture that gets the very best out of each team member
  • Support our client relationships by exceeding customer needs, ensuring top quality delivery of our services,
  • A positive, proactive H&S culture, whilst ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

To be successful you should have:

  • A strong customer delivery focus
  • Proven experience in an operational role in a team leader/supervisor capacity
  • A positive, pragmatic and wellbalanced approach to problem solving, and decision making,
  • Ability to work under pressure,
  • Excellent stakeholder partnering skills,
  • Advanced technical skills and willingness to adapt to new technology,
  • A current class 2 licence (this would be an advantage) or the willingness and ability to obtain one we can assist with this
  • The ability to gain a Passenger endorsement
  • Transport industry experience would also be an advantage.
