he Project:
Assist Botanic gardens Curators in the curation of plant collections.

This will involve plant data collection and entering in excel spread sheets and tree databases, on grounds management of plant collections, including weeding and planting and assisting with propagation of plants from within the collection.

P
urpose of the Project
Manage plant collections as "A living museum" within the Botanic gardens.

Maintain the living collection on the grounds and create up to date spreadsheets and stocktakes of key plant collections to help provide correct labelling and accurate species lists.

Ensuring plant collections within the Botanic gardens are valuable resource for public and students to utilise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completing stock takes of plant collections.
  • Entering plant records in excel spreadsheets.
  • Maintaining plant collections through weeding.
  • Propagation of plants within plant collections.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Interest in collection management
  • Experience with excel spreadsheets and data entry.
  • Horticulture

Hours of work:

60-70 hours - flexibility on mutual agreement.

This is unpaid/voluntary position commencing Semester two
