The Opportunity


The Clinical Engineering Service (CE) at Te Toka Tumai is responsible for the management and maintenance of clinical equipment for our hospitals.

We are the first point of call for any issues with medical devices within Te Toka Tumai


The precision Engineering workshop supports all areas of Auckland City Hospital, the Greenlane Clinical Centre, and occasionally other Te Toka Tumai hospital sites.

The type of work undertaken is mechanical maintenance, repairs and manufacture of clinical equipment.


As a member of the Clinical Engineering team, you will promote safe, high quality and effective Clinical Engineering services and support the organisation by ensuring that medical devices are fit for purpose and they are maintained accordingly to the appropriate standards.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
- have Trained as a Machinist, Fitter & Turner or Toolmaker
- have experience in the use of lathes, milling machines and other workshop equipment to a high degree of accuracy
- have the ability to weld using MIG and TIG would be an advantage
- have a problem-solving approach and aptitude for design is necessary with good interpersonal communication skills being required to enable effective liaising with medical, technical and non-technical staff.
- need to be fluent in the English language
- be a team player
- have a current NZ driver's license as you are required to drive both manual and automatic service vehicles on occasions
