Ko te kaupapa | About the role

Are you a proven leader within the mental health sector or in social change initiatives? Are you keen to use your skills and experience to help inspire New Zealanders to uphold the mana and human rights of people with experience of mental distress? We are looking for someone to join our mental wellbeing team to lead the Nōku te Ao, Like Minds programme to counter prejudice and discrimination towards people with mental distress, with a key focus on scaling up our response for Māori and Pasifika people with mental distress.

Can you develop and gain the respect and trust of a wide range of stakeholders from iwi, community groups to other senior leaders? Have you developed and implemented approaches with Māori and Pasifika communities? Do you have experience managing diverse and complex projects? Do you have a track record of successfully achieving programme outcomes? Are you confident in interacting with the media?
We're looking for someone with those skills to lead our Nōku te Ao, Like Minds programme.

Having prior knowledge or involvement with the Nōku te Ao, Like Minds programme, or lived experience of mental distress is advantageous.

Te Hiringa Hauora is now Health Promotion, within the National Public Health Service in Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand.

We lead and deliver innovative and high quality national health promotion initiatives.

We work with partners including iwi, researchers and academics, community groups, public health advocates, and others who are aligned to our goals.
