The opportunity
Auckland Council's Communications & Marketing department is looking for a senior strategic communications superstar to join their dynamic team in a six month, fixed-term role As the Communications Lead you will be responsible for the development and execution of integrated internal and external communication strategies that align with the organisation's objectives and major programmes of work.
Day-to-day you can expect to:- Develop and deliver a coordinated internal and external communications strategy
- Execute an integrated communications plan
- Ensure a joinedup and agreed approach to communications for major programmes of work across the organisation
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative and trusted working relationships
- Work alongside key stakeholders to ensure clear and timely communication
About you
Tertiary qualified, you will bring extensive communications experience in a similar role and be able to confidently deliver communication strategies and plans.
To be successful in this role you will also:- Have experience of developing, executing and leading a communications strategy in a large, complex organisation
- Be comfortable working in a dynamic and agile way and managing various priorities and demands
- Be able to distil complex pieces of information into a simple, cohesive narrative that can be easily understood by a range of audiences.
- Have the ability to build trust and strong partnerships and work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
- Be politically savvy and solutions focused
You will have a strong understanding of our Te Tiriti obligations in order to help drive the division's Māori Outcomes Performance Measurement Framework and continue to build capability and confidence across the division.
