Kōrero mō te Tūranga - About the Role

Due to new work programmes across two Directorates in New Zealand Food Safety, we are seeking someone to fill a 4 month, fixed term position.

This is a role where you can gain exposure into Food Safety, Food Regulation, Business Support and MPI and to develop your relationship building skills.

This team supports the Food Regulation Directorate and Regulatory Systems in New Zealand Food Safety.

You will provide support to the above directorates in many ways and will work with a strong focus on continuous improvement and contribute to change initiative projects.

A key aspect of this role is providing support to external stakeholder and internal meetings, such as venue and travel bookings, drafting agenda's and secretariat duties.

This will see you work closely with managers and directors to ensure corporate accountabilities are met.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide secretariat support to enhance industry engagement.
  • Deliver advice around critical systems and processes
  • Contributing to projectbased work
  • Providing expert advice to support critical systems
  • Diary and inbox management and Director support
  • Travel arrangements

Mō tō mātou Rōpū - About the Team

The Regulatory Oversight and Support Team are a business unit shared service that plans, develops, measures, reports and improves the process and procedures across the system for New Zealand Food Safety and the wider Ministry.

We ensure the activities of the business unit are clearly aligned to the Ministry's strategy and core delivery systems.

Working closely with our colleagues across the Corporate Services, you will be responsible for ensuring adequate and robust support is provided to the New Zealand Food Safety Business Units.

This team reports to the Team Manager Business Oversight, with a mix of Senior Advisers, Advisers, and Business Analysts all based in Wellington.
