We are looking for a Registered Nurse to, to join our supportive community-based Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) multidisciplinary team servicing the Thames / Hauraki area.

This position is a fixed term full time position from now until September 8th 2023, although part time hours will be considered.

MHSOP provide assessment, treatment and rehabilitation interventions for older adults experiencing recent onset functional mental ill health and/or behavioural and psychological symptoms secondary to degenerative neurocognitive conditions, primarily dementia.

We also see older adults with complex clinical presentations where specialist assessment is indicated within our scope. We work closely with geriatric medicine and other mental health services across the district.

You will be joining an experienced specialist team who are passionate about improving health outcomes and promoting the quality of life of people referred to our service.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • You will be a Registered Nurse with experience working in a mental health setting
  • Experience in this area of speciality would be an advantage
  • You will be passionate and committed to providing tangata whaiora focused care
  • You will work as an effective team member and demonstrate strong communication skills
  • You will need to have a calm and empathic approach, flexibility and creativity in your care approach
