About the role:


We are seeking a Kaiako to deliver the Manahautū: Combined Shared Services programme, which involves but is not limited to: developing lesson plans, presenting material to tauira (students), responding to tauira learning needs, and evaluating tauira progress.

Some flexibility may be required to work some weekends and evenings

About you:

Ideally, applicants will have:

  • Diploma in a related field
  • New Zealand Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 (NZCATT L5) or equivalent, or be willing to complete during the first year of employment
  • National Certificate in Adult Literacy & Numeracy Education Level 5 (NCALNE L5)
  • Full and current NZ Driver Licence
  • Clean Police Record

Experience:

  • Preferably held a previous role within the NZ Police
  • Proven experience in a related role
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge and appreciation of te reo and tikanga Māori within a bicultural framework
  • Adult teaching experience
  • Whilst teaching experience is highly valued at TWoA, newly qualified Kaiako with relevant qualifications but with no or limited previous teaching experience will also be considered._

NOTE:

This position is classed as a Core Worker under the Vulnerable Children's Act and will need to pass a safety check, inclusive of Police Vetting, under the Vulnerable Children's Act 2014.


As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
