This is a fantastic opportunity to work at a senior level undertaking a wide range of transport planning, project and process development activities.

Responsible for leading and delivering a wide range of Key Public Transport projects across the Auckland Region.

Your experience will include:

  • Thorough knowledge of public transport services and key enablers of successful public transport services
  • Knowledge of the New Zealand transport and local authority legislative and regulatory framework
  • Driven to achieve outcomes.
  • Highly organised plans and prioritises well and manages time to focus self and others on the most important activities.
  • Personal resilience. Able to sustain a high level of energy and positivity during times when you, the organisation or the group is under pressure.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Advanced computer skills including service scheduling tools, spreadsheets, databases and GIS

Your duties will cover the following:

  • To provide technical transport planning skills across a range of development, infrastructure and local transport projects.
  • Data collection, analysis and interpretation
  • Assessment and design of public realm proposals, with particular emphasis on bus priority.
  • Advising on bus planning and infrastructure including service planning and the design of bus facilities.
  • Developing preliminary design solutions including advice to architects and external design teams.
  • Preparation of technical reports, transport assessments, environmental assessment inputs, client and stakeholder presentations
  • Attendance at internal, client team and stakeholder meetings
  • Working within allocated budgets and reporting to individual project managers.
  • Providing support and training to junior colleagues to assist technical and career development.
  • Knowledge and experience of developing busbased solutions, including service planning, the design of bus facilities (stops, bus stations etc), and preliminary cost advice.
